Power restored to thousands in Butler County

UPDATE @ 5 a.m: Power has been restored to almost all Duke Energy customers in Butler County.

According to the outage map, fewer than 200 residents are experiencing power outages across the county.

Over 6,000 customers were without power around 4 a.m., but power was restored less than an hour later.

Restoration time for the remaining customers is estimated for 8:15 a.m., per the Duke Energy outage site.

Over 6,000 residents are without power in Butler County this morning, according to the Duke Energy outage map.

The areas most impacted include those in Oxford and Wayne Twp., with close to 4,200 customers affected in Oxford alone.

Officials are working to learn what caused the sudden power outage, which was first reported just after 4 a.m., according to Butler County dispatch.

Estimated restoration time is 8:15 a.m., per the outage site.
