Tex-Mex chain hiring 170 for new Butler County location

A Tex-Mex cuisine chain is hiring approximately 170 employees prior to the expected April opening of its new Butler County location.

Austin, Texas-based Chuy’s will open the new restaurant at 9598 Civic Center Blvd. in the Streets of West Chester shopping center.

The West Chester restaurant will be the third location in the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky region and the fifth to open in Ohio. Ohio’s first Chuy’s opened in Madeira in August 2013, followed by locations in Dayton, Beavercreek, and Columbus, according to Jason Lett, kitchen manager for the new location.

Chuy’s menu includes made-from-scratch dishes made from hand-rolled tortillas, cooked on a traditional comal in the dining room, and homemade signature sauces ranging from mild Tomatillo to their spicy Hatch Green Chile.

Founded in 1982, the Tex-Mex chain has 82 locations nationwide, according to Doug Scherbauer, area supervisor for the restaurant chain’s Ohio locations.

Part-time and full-time positions including wait staff, kitchen staff, hosts, bussers and bartenders, he said.

The West Chester store is part of an expansion of the Streets of West Chester, just off Interstate 75’s Union Centre Boulevard interchange. That expansion includes Matt the Miller’s Tavern, ’s Tex Mex and Duluth Trading Co.

Hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. For more information, click here.
