The rabble of butterflies will be donated to the Cancer Free Kid’s Butterfly Walk and 5K, which takes place on May 12 in Loveland, according to teacher Kristy Filgis.
“The butterflies will be attached to ribbon and wrapped around trees along the walk to decorate the path of walkers and runners,” Filgis said.
Students have been decorating butterflies for two months during study time and reading time, Filgis said. Some have even making them at home and bringing them in.
“It can be a beautiful thing when we all get together as a community to raise awareness of cancer,” said classmate Logan Fields.
