Search continues for owner of Christmas ornament in memory of mom

For the second time this year, West Chester is looking for the owners of a personalized Christmas ornament saved from a holiday tree on its way to the wood chipper.

The silver ornament is engraved with the words “In Loving Memory MOM 12-9-13”.

Township officials tweeted about the found ornament on Mother’s Day this past May, hoping the owners would come forward.

The township posted a second notice about the ornament on Nov. 20, hoping its owner would realize it was missing now that residents are beginning to unpack their Christmas decorations.

“My thought was the person may not know it was missing until next Christmas when they got out their decorations,” Barb Wilson, spokeswoman for the township, told the Journal-News in May. “Not like other things, like a phone, that they would notice they lost right away.”

The ornament is believed to have been left on a Christmas tree taken to Keehner Park for recycling, she said.

Township employees inspect the trees to assure everything is off the branches before turning them into mulch, according to Wilson.

If the ornament belongs to your family, contact the township at 513-759-7301.
