Reminder: You can meet Butler County ‘Puppy Bowl’ participant Saturday

Residents will have a chance meet Rugby, an Animal Friends Humane Society alumnus who will be part of the nationally televised "Puppy Bowl," during a meet and greet Saturday.

The 17-month-old terrier mix will be playing for Team Fluff with the hope of defeating Team Ruff for the “Puppy Bowl XII” title on Feb. 7. The annual program scores big ratings for Animal Planet.

Rugby will be visiting Animal Friends Humane Society and signing “PAWtographs” on Saturday, the day before the big event.

In addition to meeting Rugby, anyone interested in adopting a dog that day can do so for just $50 in celebration of Super Bowl 50, according to the Butler County animal shelter.

Adoption hours are 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
