Pet Valu, local rescues and shelters partner for National Adoption Weekend

Pet Valu stores are partnering with local rescues and shelters in celebration of Pet Appreciation Month for National Adoption Weekend, April 26 to 28.

Local organizations will be on-site this weekend with pets available for adoption. Anyone adopting a pet will receive a free Pet Parent Guide, coupons for a free pet tag and a free bag of food. Stores will also offer sales, raffles and refreshments.

Anyone who donates will receive a $5 coupon to use at Pet Valu and their donation will go directly to the rescues in their community.

“Supporting local rescues and shelters and making adoptions possible is one of the most important pieces of our work at Pet Valu,” Tina Shane, chief store operations officer said.

During this month, Pet Valu storefront windows have been embellished with blue paper paws representing customer donations. They’ve also been donating the proceeds from the sales of their special, limited edition, $5 pet bandanas to local animal welfare organizations.

Last April, Pet Valu donated over $678,000.
