“Making the move to a senior living community is a tough decision. It’s our hope that our customers only need to make it once,” said Leigh Ann Barney, President & CEO of Trilogy Health Services, in a statement issued upon the recent opening of Trilogy Violet Springs in Pickerington. “The goal is to offer multiple levels of care so that as our residents’ needs change, they can still receive support in surroundings they know, from people they know. We constantly see our employees and residents form powerful bonds. These relationships are just as important as the care that we provide.”
Trilogy purchased the Hamilton site in May for more than $1.2 million, according to the Butler County Auditor’s Office.
Louisville, Kentucky-based Trilogy operates 110 senior living communities throughout Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. That includes Legacy at Liberty Ridge at 7200 Heritagespring Drive in West Chester, a facility it recently took over management from Thrive Memory Care.
The new Hamilton facility and others like it are being constructed at a time of growth in the 65-and-older age group. Census Bureau projections indicate increases in that group in the coming decades, with the fastest growth in this decade and the next, but growth continuing even after that, but at a slower pace.
The 65-and-older population will increase by more than 50 percent by 2050, reaching more than 81 million, according to a Pew Research Center report.
The new Trilogy facility is just one of several Butler County senior living facilities set to open or already accepting residents.
Michigan-based StoryPoint, which offers independent living, assisted living and memory care, will welcome its first residents today at a 221,632-square-foot senior care facility at 7129 Gilmore Road in Fairfield Twp., just around the corner from the Trilogy site..

The facility has 203 units altogether, including 120 independent living units, 42 enhanced living units, 20 assisted living units and 21 memory care units.
Colorado-based Spectrum Retirement Communties accepted its first residents at West Chester Assisted Living and Memory Care in April at 7047 Hamilton Mason Road in West Chester Twp. The two-story facility has 68 assisted living units and 32 memory care units.
At least one other senior living community is working to gain approval in Butler County, that one near the new Kroger planned for Ohio 4 in Liberty Twp.
