The two-vehicle accident occurred in the northbound lanes of Dixie Highway in front of Pearls Diner at 4696 Dixie Highway, according to police
One of the drivers, a 33-year-old man, was taken to West Chester Hospital by life squad.
The other driver, a 54-year-old man, was transported to University of Cincinnati Medical Center by Air Care.
The crash is still under investigation, and police have not released the names of those involved.
INITIAL REPORT:
A Ford Ranger pickup truck, driven by a 33-year-old man, and a work van, driven by a 54-year-old man, collided head-on in the northbound this afternoon in the 4600 block of Dixie Highway in Fairfield.
Fairfield police are on the scene investigating the serious accident. Both vehicles suffered major damage.
Officer Doug Day said the accident occurred at 12:57 p.m. in the northbound lane. One person was flown in a medical helicopter and another was transported to West Chester Hospital, Day said.
The accident is between Symmes and Magie roads.
Chris Fisher, manager of a nearby auto store, said the driver of the truck was seen weaving in and out of traffic before the accident.
He said the impact of the accident indicates someone was traveling faster than the posted 40 mph.
