Identifying stress points focus of new technology

OXFORD — Patients looking to better their body through the use of natural supplements can take advantage of a new tool now available in Oxford.

Through a simple ZYTO scan (pronounced zye-toh), a patient can find exactly where there is stress in his or her body, and find the right treatment, including supplements and nutritional changes.

“Three hundred and fifty thousand people are dying every year from our health care system,” said Dr. Stacy A. Chidester from The Oxford Medical Health and Wellness Center. “I mean is this the health care system that we need? Absolutely. But are there other avenues that we can treat conditions maybe without dangerous drugs and surgical procedures? That’s where the ZYTO comes in.”

A ZYTO bio-communication scan is a quick and simple process that takes 3 to 5 minutes and surveys one’s body subconsciously through a small hand scanner, Chidester explained. The scanner works by sending virtual stimulus items (VSIs) through the body, starting the second a patient places his or her hand on the scanner. A VSI is a digital signal that represents physical stimuli in the body, which responds to the scanner through a Galvanic Skin Response for a computer to interpret.

In other words, the scanner asks the body a series of questions, which are reverted back to the computer through the skin for analysis. Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) measures fluctuations in electrical conductivity throughout the body, much like a lie detector would.

The scanner creates a baseline where the body is stable, and anything below the baseline demonstrates where the body contains stress or needs improvement. These results are analyzed and shown on a computer in an easy-to-read chart, and ranked in order of priority to the patient. This allows a doctor to see exactly what is wrong with a patient’s body, and how to make a diagnosis, Chidester said.

Chidester, a chiropractor at The Oxford Medical Health And Wellness center, has been using ZYTO technology to help his patients for about a year now. He combines the scan with a consultation, physical examination, and a system survey to compile the best way to treat a patient through nutritional healing. Chidester also works very closely with Standard Process, one of the oldest supplemental companies in the nation, operating since 1929.

Studies on how the principal of ZYTO works, through GSR, were conducted in the 1940s and have developed to where the technology is today, Chidester said.

“It is continuously evolving, becoming better and better,” he said. “Looking at it as an alternative practitioner, without using drugs and medications and finding ways that we can help patients without exposing them to the high risk drugs and surgeries. That’s our ultimate goal here.”

Compared to expensive hospital bills, the ZYTO scanner and consultations are cost-effective. The initial appointment costs around $130, while follow-up appointments cost about $35.
