According to police, a medical helicopter was called to the scene but efforts to revive Walter Gibson Jr. of Fairfield, the driver of the car police said crossed from northbound I-75 into the southbound lanes, were unsuccessful.
Police said Gibson’s car was struck by another vehicle. The driver of the southbound car — Momar Kasse, 34, of Cincinnati — was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said they are continuing their investigation but speed and alcohol are suspected factors in the crash.
