Crews respond to report of person struck by train in Hamilton

UPDATE @ 2:17 p.m.

A man has been transported to University of Cincinnati hospital after being struck by a train this afternoon, police said.

His condition is not known.

Two CSX employees said the man attempted to run around the train — described by police as “slow moving” — before he was struck.

INITIAL REPORT, 1:53 p.m.

A pedestrian was reportedly struck by a train this afternoon in Hamilton.

Emergency crews were dispatched at 1:34 p.m. to the intersection of Heaton Avenue and Fifth Street. The victim was reportedly “bleeding from the head,” according to dispatchers.

Crews have arrived on the scene.
