Cornhole tournament underway in Butler County

Competitors from 13 states and more than 200 teams are battling in a cornhole tournament this weekend in Butler County.

Action is underway at the Butler County Fairgrounds through Saturday.

The American Cornhole Organization Ohio Major No. 11 will feature championship title tournaments for singles, doubles, womens, juniors, seniors and the Slyder Cup.

Among the 200 teams competing are ACO professional players Jay Dotson and Eric Zocklein.

Participants and spectators will bring in an estimated $143,000 in economic impact to Butler County, according to the Butler County Visitors Bureau.

“The BCVB is proud to continue to expand our resume of hosting unique sporting events in Butler County. Cornhole is a great addition to our roster and we welcome competitors and spectators for a fun-filled weekend,” Hecquet said.

Frank Geers, president of ACO, said he hopes the tournament becomes an annual event in Butler County

“The BCVB and the Fairgrounds have been great partners with the ACO and we are more excited than ever to continue building on this relationship. The ACO feels right at home when coming to Hamilton. We are extremely excited to begin what we hope to be an annual tradition with Butler County,” Geers said.

The event is open to the public and there is no cost for admission.
