Butler Tech names new adult workforce education director

A new leader in local workforce development has joined Butler Technology Career and Development Schools.

The vocational school announced Wednesday it has named Scott Palmer executive director of Adult Workforce Education effective Jan. 27, 2016.

In this role, Palmer will oversee daily operations of Butler Tech’s adult workforce programming including: workforce development; customized training for the business community; identification of new programming; implementation and deployment of continuous improvement plans; and budget management, according to Butler Tech.

Most recently, Palmer was director of adult education operations at the Delaware Area Career Center in Central Ohio. He also served as a faculty member at Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in business communication, graduate learning strategies, business ethics, economics, and professional writing, among others, according to Butler Tech.

Also, Palmer is a member of the Ohio Association for Career Technical Education.

Palmer fills the position left vacant in August by Cheryl Brackman, according to Butler Tech.

Butler Tech is one of Ohio’s largest career-technical schools based on enrollment. It has five campuses in Fairfield Twp., Hamilton, Monroe, Liberty Twp. and West Chester Twp. with enrollment of approximately 3,200 full- and part-time students including associate programs offered at 10 local school districts. The school district receives funding from tuition fees and taxpayers.
