Police and the fire department were called to the Miami Mobile Home Park in Oxford at 4:45 p.m. Nov. 7 on a report of a fire and found smoke coming from a vacant mobile home, according to a police report.

It was discovered a man had been squatting there and had lit a fire to keep warm. He was identified as Jacob M. Wagers, 25. The fire was put out and Wagers was charged with arson, criminal trespass and possession of drug abuse instruments.

While speaking with him, however, officers noticed him smoking a unique brand of cigarettes, the same brand that had been reported stolen in a recent burglary in that area.

Officers investigated and recovered other stolen property and Wagers was charged with burglary and taken to the Butler County Jail.

Additional charges may be forthcoming, police said.
