Residents at Oxford Square Apartments had free laundry service for nearly two months, according to a report made to police Oct. 23. An officer was dispatched there at 11:55 a.m. to take a theft report.

The manager of the complex reported someone had opened ten clothing washer and dryer machines located in the laundry room and changed the programming to make them free of charge. The change had been made around Aug. 30.

As a result, residents had received free service between Aug. 30 and Oct. 23.

The machines had last been emptied of change Aug. 30 and the reprogramming was discovered Oct. 23 when the machines were checked again and found to have no change in them.

It was estimated revenue from the machines during that time period would have been approximately $1,500 and it is unknown if whoever reset the machines actually took money from them.

There are no suspects.
