Which school districts in Butler, Warren counties will be closed Thursday?

Many of the area schools closed Wednesday due to frigid temperatures will remain shuttered Thursday for the same reason.

Among those announcing closings on Thursday are:

• Badin

• Butler Tech

• Edgewood

• Fairfield

• Hamilton

• Kings

• Lakota

• Madison

• Mason

• Middletown

• Monroe

• Springboro

• Talawanda

Some districts will continue to operate their after-school and evening events, including Middletown schools, where officials said Wednesday they are going to still hold a districtwide open house at Wade E. Miller Arena and the adjacent Middletown middle school and high school on Thursday.

School officials asked residents to check their local school district websites — or local school building websites — for the latest news regarding whether Thursday evening sports, parent-teacher conferences and other school-related events were still happening.

Moreover, school officials cite concerns about students suffering from skin exposure to dangerously low temperatures.
