Object shatters Lakota special-needs school bus window, none transported for treatment

An “object” shattered a window of a Lakota school special-needs bus on Wednesday, according to police and school officials.

Multiple students and an aide were on the bus, but none are being transported for treatment, fire officials said. They don’t believe there was any malicious intent and that it was likely an accident.

The bus was carrying pre-schoolers, and the incident was reported at about 1 p.m.

Emergency crews responded to the bus’ location at the intersection of Linn Road and Linn Lane in Liberty Twp.

Those on the bus are expected to switch to another bus to continue their transport, officials said.

“We are not sure what flew through the window,” said Betsy Fuller, spokeswoman for Lakota Schools.
