The pool of candidates — in alphabetical order — applying to be the next superintendent of Lakota Local Schools are:

- Adam C. Bird, superintendent New Richmond Schools in Clermont County

- James G. Detwiler, assistant superintendent for learning support, Boone County Schools, Florence, Kentucky

Vogelmann, who was appointed to the acting superintendent role after Karen Mantia was granted medical leave from the job, is not the only candidate with experience in Lakota Schools.
Kline is a former high school principal at Lakota East.
“Over the last couple months, we have been working diligently to attract the best possible pool of candidates,” Lakota Board of Education President Ben Dibble said. “It is critical that Lakota’s next leader have the best combination of skills to continue moving this district forward.”
The board plans to meet in executive session Thursday, Jan. 26, which Ohio school law allows when districts are discussing personnel decisions.
Board leaders have said they want to hire a new superintendent in March. The new superintendent for the 16,500-student district would begin working Aug. 1.
