Local eatery introduces Hamilton-themed drinks

Downtown Hamilton restaurant Ryan’s Tavern, 241 High St., will debut seven Hamilton-themed cocktails Friday evening.

The new additions are a salute to the Mercantile Lofts, Riversedge Amphitheater, Artspace and the city of Hamilton as a whole, according to Ryan’s Tavern general manager Tully Milders.

Milders said the restaurant has been considering the idea for some time and, until now, has not had an official drink menu.

“My hope then is that they’ll be on Ryan’s menu permanently,” Milders said. “If you come in 10 years, after Artspace has been around for a while, they’ll have become signature drinks.”

No stranger to locals is Ryan’s Root Beer (Jameson, Irish cream and Butterscotch Schnapps topped with root beer), but there are several new additions to the list.

New drinks include:

  • Mercantile Style: Passionfruit syrup, spiced rum, orange juice, pineapple juice, splash of grenadine
  • HUBtini: Strawberry puree, vodka, pineapple juice, splash of Cupcake moscato
  • Hamiltini: Raspberry vodka, raspberry liqueur, pineapple juice
  • Riversedge: Melon liqueur, blue curacao, rum, pineapple juice
  • Amphitini: Budweiser Mang-O-Rita, splash of blue curacao, rum, vodka, lime juice, soda water
  • (Artspace) Artini: Chocolate syrup and raspberry drizzled in glass, Kahlua, Irish cream, vodka
