Largest Planet Fitness in Ohio coming to Butler County

A new multi-story, prototype Planet Fitness being built next to Jungle Jim’s on Dixie Highway in Fairfield will be the largest in Ohio.

Each facility varies in size, but many Planet Fitness locations average around 20,000 square feet, according to Becky Zirlen, a spokeswoman for the fitness chain, who said the new 31,000-square-foot club would be larger than the other 63 Planet Fitness locations in the state.

The new location is expected to be open by the end of 2017 and will employ about 20 people, Zirlen said.

It will have areas dedicated to cardio fitness, tanning and hydro massage and replace the existing Fairfield location on Patterson Drive.
