RELATED: Middletown Judge Mark Wall remembered for compassion, fairness
Wall, 70, died on Feb. 11 at his Middletown home after hitting his head following a cardiovascular event, according to the Butler County Coroner’s Office.
An appointment by Ohio Gov. John Kasich would be a temporary appointment until the Nov. 7 election. According to state law, anyone seeking to succeed Wall in the municipal courtroom had to have filed petitions for election within 10 days of his death.
Those who had filed petitions to be on the November ballot are Melynda Cook Howard, Beth Yauch Joseph, Terri King, Jeff Milbauer and James Sherron.
The Butler County GOP will send its recommendation to Kasich for consideration of appointing a temporary judge.
