Fort Hamilton Hospital is celebrating its 85th anniversary this year.
Planning is underway for events being held in May, including an open house and health fair.
Sonja Kranbuhl, director of the Fort Hamilton Hospital Foundation, said the hospital is currently seeking “Fort Babies” photos from those who’ve been born at the hospital since its opening in 1929.
The photos will be used as the focal point in a Faces of the Community mural that is the centerpiece of the 85th anniversary celebration, Kranbuhl said.
“We have delivered thousands and thousands of babies over the years, and would like to feature photos of four generations of people born at Fort Hamilton Hospital,” Kranbuhl said.

A public open house will be held from noon to 4 p.m. May 4 at the hospital. The event will include hospital tours, a health fair, healthy cooking demonstrations, activities for children and a historic display showcasing photos of the hospital. Visitors will also receive a commemorative gift.
