Fairfield road to close for 45 days for water main replacement

Ross Road will close to through traffic between Mack Road and Ohio 4 for 45 days starting Monday, weather permitting, to replace more than 3,000 feet of water main.

The pipe replacement is being done before the city’s planned repaving of Ross and Mack roads, which is slated to begin in late summer.

Side streets that will be affected by the work include Cherry Hill, Kay and Chapel Hill drives.

Detours will be posted, but traffic directed around the construction site via Mack Road and Ohio 4. Portable message boards will be posted in advance of the work to notify traffic.

The city of Fairfield plans to spend $1.25 million this year on three water main replacement projects, including at Ross and Mack roads, and Donald Drive.
