“We have eight crews working on service reconnections,” said Gas & Water Distribution Superintendent Andy Flum in a press release.
Any customer still without service is asked to call 513-785-7550 for reconnecting their service and relighting pilot lights on furnaces and water heaters, according to the city.
UPDATE, 1:55 p.m. MARCH 19:
Natural gas customers on Ohio 4 side of the railroad tracks, from Belle to Laurel avenues, has had service restored, according to the Hamilton Department of Underground Utilities. Crews are currently going door-to-door and lighting pilot lights.
Department crews said the Pleasant Avenue area is coming back on “piece by piece” and when they are returned back on crews will be going door to door to light pilot lights.
It could take the remainder of the weekend to get everyone’s natural gas service back online, according to the Hamilton Department of Underground Utilities. The department is not releasing at this time how many are without service still, or have had service restored.
The service interruption, which began Wednesday evening, was caused by an underground water service leak that over time wore a hole in a nearby natural gas main. That then filled the pipe and adjacent mains with water, blocking natural gas flow and interrupting service to area consumers.
UPDATE, 11:13 a.m. MARCH 19:
The natural gas outage in parts of Hamilton is expected to end around noon today, according to the Hamilton Department of Underground Utilities.
Around 150 customers in south-central Hamilton have experienced a natural gas outage since late Wednesday. These customers rely on the natural gas to heat their homes, and temperatures dipped overnight from Friday to Saturday into the 30s, and highs today are expected to be in the 40s.

As cold temperatures move back into the area tonight, dozens of people in Hamilton will be without natural gas to heat their homes.
Crews have been working since late Wednesday to drain waterlogged natural gas mains that have cut off service to dozens of people, according to the city.
About 150 customers in south-central Hamilton are experiencing a natural gas service interruption, according to the city.
Temperatures are expected to dip into the 30s tonight. A few flurries are expected to start Saturday, with highs only reaching the upper 30s. On Sunday, highs are expected around 40 degrees.
Restoration of natural gas service to customers may begin late tonight, the city said today. However, restoration of natural gas service to all customers is expected to continue through the weekend.

About 150 customers in south-central Hamilton are experiencing a natural gas service interruption, according to the city.
City crews are continuing to work to restore natural gas service to the areas listed below, however, it is estimated service will not be restored to all affected customers until mid-day Saturday, according to the city.
Natural gas service has been interrupted in the following updated locations:
- Dixie Highway from Emery Avenue to Forest Avenue
- Belle Avenue from Zimmerman Avenue to Dixie Highway
- Williams Avenue from Madison Avenue to Dixie Highway
- Fox Avenue from Skillman Avenue to Dixie Highway
- Symmes Avenue from Zimmerman Avenue to Dixie Highway
- Forest Avenue from Zimmerman Avenue to Dixie Highway
- Fairview Avenue from Zimmerman Avenue to Dixie Highway
Although it is safe to remain in your home, the city can make a shelter available, according to a press release. Affected customers can call 513-785-7100 until 11 p.m. today for more information.
Once natural gas service has been restored,city crews will contact customers to re-light appliances.

About 70 customers in south-central Hamilton are experiencing a natural-gas service interruption today. The outage first was reported at 10:36 p.m. Wednesday, and troubleshooting crew was dispatched.
The crew found a water line was leaking, with water infiltrating the natural-gas main, causing a service interruption, the city announced.
“To make repairs, it is necessary to temporarily interrupt the natural-gas service to purge the natural-gas main of water … and to repair the water service leak,” the city announced in a news release. “Crews will be working diligently to safely restore service in a timely manner, however, the duration of the service interruption is not known at this time. Additional information will be shared as it becomes available.”
