Thieves nab $12,000 in checks from unlocked car

An unlocked 2010 Jeep Liberty opened the door for thieves to nab almost $12,000 in checks.

A 40-year-old West Chester Twp. man left $11,950 in checks made out to Odesa Auction in his vehicle while the car was parked in the 8000 block of Woodlark Lane between 11 p.m. July 7 and 10 a.m. the next day, according to a police report.

Thieves made off with the money.

The incident was reported to police at around noon July 8. T

ownship spokeswoman Barb Wilson said the case is currently “inactive.”
