School nurse pleads guilty to making sexual advances, offering marijuana to student in Warren County

A substitute nurse in two Warren County school districts pleaded guilty Monday to contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a misdemeanor of the first degree; and sexual imposition, a misdemeanor of the third degree, in Warren County Common Pleas Court.

In August 2018, Delena Clever, 48, of Maineville, a substitute nurse in the Little Miami and Kings Local School Districts at the time, sent a text message to a male student informing him she was intoxicated and asked him to drive her around, officials said.

Clever directed the student to a hotel in Deerfield Twp. where she had rented a room. While there, Clever made several sexual advances toward the student and offered him alcohol and marijuana, according to a press release from Warren County Prosecutor David P. Fornshell.

The student refused and told Clever he wanted to go home. While driving back, Clever reached over and touched the student’s genitals over his clothing, Fornshell said.

Judge Joseph W. Kirby immediately sentenced Clever to 60 days in the Warren County Jail and registered her as a Tier I sex offender.

Fornsell said Clever was “lucky that the underage student ultimately rebuffed her sexual advances,” otherwise she would likely have been sent to prison.
