Police: Trenton shooting drug-related, investigation continuing

Trenton police are continuing to investigate the shooting of a man Friday night at his residence.

A 21-year-old man was shot in his lower rear torso at about 9 p.m. in the 400 block of Mars Drive, according to Trenton Detective Sean Gill.

Crews were called to the residence on a report of a felonious assault involving a gun.

Gill told the Journal-News on Monday that the investigation indicates the incident was drug related. He said this was a targeted incident and not random. There is no threat to public safety, he said.

Police are still declining to release the identity of the victim, who underwent surgery for his non-life-threatening injury.

If anyone has any information, they are asked to call the Trenton Police Department at 513-988-6341, Gill at 513-428-0129 or the anonymous tip line at 513-428-0111.
