Victim ID’d in fatal Hamilton shooting on Saturday morning

A man who was found shot in Hamilton on Saturday morning has died, police said.

James M. Williams, 38, of Hamilton was reported shot just before 5 a.m. in the 500 block of North Ninth Street. Multiple 911 calls were received reporting a victim had been shot in the chest, according to scanner traffic.

Williams was taken to Fort Hamilton Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Sgt. Shawn Fryman said Saturday afternoon that detectives were interviewing “a lot” of witnesses. He confirmed there was one gunshot victim from the incident, but could give no more details at that time.
