Middletown police are asking for help in finding a missing man who cut off an electronic monitoring device in January.
Steven A. Baker, 49, was last seen on Jan. 3 in the 2900 block of Wilbraham Road, according to police. He was reported missing by his girlfriend on Jan. 18, and she said she has not heard from him in several weeks.
According to the report, Baker had been living at Hope House and cut off his ankle monitor he was wearing through Warren County.
The girlfriend said she had been told about some suspicious text messages alleging Baker was dead in a vacant house on Wilbraham or Tytus Avenue, police said.
Police searched several locations, including a vacant garage on Wilbraham where it appeared someone had been staying. Another report was that Baker may have stolen a car, but that vehicle was located.
Anyone with information about Baker is asked to call Detective Brook McDonald at 513-425-7745.
