An employee of the Elms Hotel in Oxford told police a caller made threatening statements after being told the hotel does not allow pets.

The female caller repeatedly called the hotel for two hours May 14 shouting profanities and threatening to bring a gun, according to a police report.

The employee told police the woman asked about a reservation for May 15 and became angry when told the hotel does not allow pets.

The caller shouted profanities and said she would come to the hotel with a gun during repeated calls over a two-hour period, according to the police report.

The employee said the woman never did give her name, but the officer was given the name of the owner of the credit card used to make the reservation. According to the report, the officer tried several times to call the woman without success.

The officer put the hotel in touch with the hotel’s phone service provider, which blocked incoming calls from the caller.

The hotel, 75 S. Main St., requested extra patrols by police following the incident.
