Police: Man found dead in Middletown home was homicide

Middletown police are investigating as a homicide the death of a man found Friday morning in his Lafayette Avenue home.

Police and a fire/rescue crew were called to the home in the 1500 block of Lafayette about 8 a.m. on a report of a man bleeding and not breathing, according to a statement police released Friday afternoon.

They found Joseph Romano, 47, who had suffered traumatic injuries, according to the statement. His body was taken to the Butler County Coroner’s Office.

“Middletown police are continuing the homicide investigation,” according to the statement.
