Middletown man pleads guilty to public indecency

A Middletown man pleaded guilty to public indecency, a third-degree misdemeanor, and was sentenced to 60 days in jail, according to police and court records.

Michael D. Adkins, 52, was charged with public indecency after he allegedly defecated beside a Dumpster in the 1000 block of Central Avenue, according to a police report.

A woman called police and said there has been an “ongoing issue” of people defecating by a Dumpster near her residence.

When police located Adkins, he was sitting in the area drinking a beer and smoking a cigar, police said. He smelled of alcohol and was unsteady on his feet, police said.
