Middletown fire causes $60K in damages, one of three dogs saved

A Friday afternoon fired caused $60,000 in damages to a home in the 3200 block of Bexley Drive, according to the Middletown Division of Fire.

The fire caused $35,000 in damages to the property and $25,000 in damages to the contents, according to the fire report. The home was valued at $120,000.

Middletown paramedics saved the life of one dog that was trapped inside during the fire. The dog was treated at a local veterinarian’s office. Tony Brewer, who lives in the home, said there were three dogs, all miniature schnauzers, in the home at the time of the fire. Ruby survived the fire, and Rex and Tara died, he said.

The fire was isolated to the south end of the kitchen.
