Hamilton man indicted on child rape charges

HAMILTON - A Hamilton man could face decades in prison if he is found guilty of raping a young victim over a period of several years.

Freddie P. Armstrong, 31, of Hamilton allegedly raped a young person under the age of 13 three times, between December 2004 and December 2006, according to Assistant Butler County Prosecutor Jennifer Muench-McElfresh.

A Butler County grand jury indicted him on three counts of rape on Monday.

Muench-McElfresh said she could not say whether the child was a boy or a girl but she said the incidents occurred in Monroe Twp.

The counts are felonies of the first degree and if Armstrong is found guilty he faces three to 10 years in prison on each count,

Armstrong was arrested on Wednesday and was being held in the Butler County jail as of Thursday with no bond set. An arraignment has not yet been scheduled.
