On Tuesday, Stephens had not been booked into the Butler County Jail.

The vehicle flipped over in the median near the Cincinnati Dayton Road exit. Two other vehicles were involved, including one that spun out and one that was sideswiped.
Emily Leavell, who lives in Troy, was heading to a work event in Butler County when she saw a vehicle speeding toward her. Her vehicle was the one sideswiped.
“He was half in the grass and half on the road,” she said. “He was going fast.”
At first she said it took time register what she saw. Then she felt the thump.
“You know it was Monday, I was thinking, ‘Did I just see that? Then I saw other car stopped on the other side. She didn’t get hit. He was gone down the road. I couldn’t even see his car anymore.”
Leavell said she feels very fortunate.
“There were hundreds of people on the road and no one got hurt, even him,” Leavell said. “God had to be working overtime, he kept us all safe.”
Many wrong-way crashes end tragically.

In November 2019, a Massachusetts man and one of his young sons died in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 71 in Warren County. Three members of a Middletown family died last month in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 75 in Moraine.
On St. Patrick’s Day 2019, three members of a Mason family were killed by in a wrong-way crash, also on I-75 in Moraine.
