2 arrested after traffic stops in Middletown

Middletown Police had a message for would-be criminals after officers arrested two people during traffic stops over the weekend.

“Great work by patrol in getting this off of our streets. For the rest of you who want to come to Middletown to sell your dope and play Cowboy with your guns. Don’t. Stay out. You are not wanted here…Ever,” the police department posted on its Facebook page.

Ceiontae Harris, 21, of Cincinnati, was stopped Saturday and was found to have a warrant through Fairfield. During the arrest, police found morphine pills and a handgun in his vehicle. Harris was charged with drug abuse/morphine, weapons under disability, and driving under suspension.

Bond was set at $10,000 and his preliminary hearing was set for next week.

A loaded silver revolver was found in another vehicle that was stopped for speeding. Franklin Holdbrook, 32, of Middletown, was found to be driving under suspension. During a search of the vehicle, a loaded silver revolver was found tucked between the seat and the center console. There was also a small bag of drugs in the car. Holdbrook was charged with drug abuse/marijuana, improper handling of a firearm and driving under suspension.

He posted 10 percent of his $6,000 bond and his pretrial hearing was set for next month, according to court records.
