Anonymous tip leads to ID of alleged Fairfield credit card thief

Fairfield police have issued an arrest warrant for a woman they say stole a credit card on Saturday and then used it twice.

Investigators are looking for Jamie Faulkner, 33, who was last known to live in the Arbor Pointe Apartments.

Faulkner allegedly stole a credit card accidentally left inside an ATM at the Chaco Credit Union on Deis Drive in Fairfield, said Fairfield police Officer Doug Day.

After the owner of the card realized he left it at the bank, it was gone, according to Day.

Day said Faulkner allegedly used the card to make a $69.71 purchase at UDF on Pleasant Avenue in Fairfield and a $257.20 purchase at Casablanca, a clothing store in Hamilton.

Surveillance video was obtained at all three locations and police were able to identify Faulkner in the videos thanks to an anonymous tip, Day said.

Faulkner is being charged with a fifth-degree felony for allegedly stealing the credit card and a first-degree misdemeanor for misuse of the credit card.
