After drugs found, man tells police: Pants belong to my cousin

After a man was found to have a warrant through the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, drugs allegedly were located in his pants Friday night and he told police those pants belonged to his cousin, according to a Middletown police report.

Kyle Mobley, 23, had warrants for aggravated assault and he was transported to Middletown City Jail. When he was searched, a corrections officer found a small, clear baggie containing what appeared to be methamphetamine, weighing 0.4 grams, the report read.

He then was charged with drug abuse/methamphetamine. He told police the pants belonged to his cousin and he didn’t know what was in the pockets, according to the report. But police found his identification in the pants, they said.

His preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 19 in Middletown Municipal Court, according to records.
