West Chester bicyclist killed in a crash last week identified

The Butler County Coroner’s Office has identified the bicyclist who died after an early morning crash on Friday with two vehicles on Muhlhauser Road in West Chester Twp.

Elizabeth Gaston Hanes, 54 of West Chester was pronounced dead at 8:30 a.m. from blunt force trauma. It was ruled an accident, according to the coroner’s report.

Emergency crews were called just before 5:30 a.m. to the crash on Muhlhauser Road at International Boulevard. Township officials said two vehicles were involved in the accident.

The drivers of both vehicles stopped and cooperated with police. No further details about how the crash happened are available.
