Middletown Detective Elizabeth Stewart was the only witness and she testified that on March 5, five teens went to an apartment in the 3200 block of Wilbraham Road. Two juveniles told three others in the car that there were guns in the apartment.

The juveniles were driven back to where one of them lived, then Sidique Bailey, 19, and Jakaleb Silas, 18, both of Middletown, allegedly entered the unlocked front door of the apartment and instructed the two 14-year-olds who were playing video games to get on the floor, Stewart said.
They then stole two guns and fled the apartment, Stewart said.
Bailey was charged with aggravated burglary, two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, fleeing and eluding, and reckless operation.
Silas was charged with aggravated burglary.
The 13- and 17-year-olds charged with aggravated burglary for their alleged roles in the home burglary will appear next week in Butler County Juvenile Court before Judge Kathleen Romans for their pre-trial hearings, according to court documents.
Police said the 13-year-old had repeatedly asked the apartment’s resident to sell him a gun, but the man refused. The teen suspected there were multiple guns in the home and convinced two other subjects to commit the burglary, police said. He was charged with aggravated burglary.
A 17-year-old was responsible for striking the 14-year-old with a pistol, police said. When taken into custody, the teen had a stolen hand gun from a prior home invasion in Columbus, police said. He was charged with aggravated burglary, felonious assault, and receiving stolen property.
Jack Mikesell, 19, of Middletown, was charged with aggravated burglary because he allegedly helped a 13-year-old plan the burglary. His preliminary hearing is set for later this month.
