31,911 cases, 1,969 deaths from coronavirus in Ohio

There have been 31,911 cases of the new coronavirus and 1,969 deaths from the coronavirus in Ohio as of Sunday, May 24, since the start of the outbreak, the Ohio Department of Health reported.

Of those, 29,777 of those cases have been test confirmed and 1,769 of those who died had a test confirmed coronavirus case. The rest fall under Center for Disease Control guidelines that enable states to report a probable case without a confirmed coronavirus test.

Since March, 5,476 people have been hospitalized and 1,438 people have been admitted to an intensive care unit.

Gov. Mike DeWine will not give an update to the public about how the state is responding to coronavirus today.
