35-year-old man dies in Fairfield shooting

A 35-year-old man was killed Saturday night in a shooting in Fairfield.

Officers and medics responded at approximately 7:40 p.m. to a report of shots fired on Brittany Lane, according to a release from the Fairfield Police Department.

The gunshot victim was taken by ambulance to Mercy Health - Fairfield Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victim’s name has not been released pending notification of family, police said.

A police investigation is underway, and no arrests have been made.
