Singer and rhythm guitarist of Soundgarden, Chris Cornell, died Wednesday night after performing in Detroit. The band was on tour and was scheduled to perform next at the music extravaganza Rock on The Range this weekend in Columbus.
The band was scheduled to perform on Friday with other bands such as Bush, Chevelle, Pierce the Veil and Of Mice & Men.
Soundgarden performed at least twice in the Dayton area. In 1992, the group opened for Guns N’ Roses at the infamous Nutter Center concert at which the headliner didn’t begin its set until 12:45 a.m.
Soundgarden returned to the in 1994 to perform for a crowd of 3,500 at Hara Arena as the headliner.
