Monster Mash will bring the community together for Middletown’s third annual, citywide Halloween party on Saturday night. The event will run from 5 to 10 p.m. at Governor’s Square Park.
Tim Lewis, co-chair of the event, said Broad Street Bash has partnered with Downtown Middletown, Inc. and the shops of Downtown Middletown to bring the fall, family-friendly celebration to town.
“Originally, the event was the end of the season party for the Bash, but, I’ll tell you what, we’ve turned it into an annual Halloween party for Middletown,” Lewis said.
Starting at 5 p.m., Middletown Pacemakers will present a custom car show featuring Rat Rods, which will run along Central Avenue. The Monster Bash Photo Booth will return and give everyone the opportunity to have a festive photo taken.
The Monster Mash entertainment lineup will include Bob Dellaposta on the Pendleton Art Center Stage and magic on the main stage performed by Jason The Great. Middletown’s own Inspector 12 and friends will headline the event, accompanied by a spectacular laser light show. A handful of local musicians will join the band for tributes to some classic monsters and horror films.
There will also be a Kid’s Zone with free kids glow bracelets, a Haunted Kids Hayride Train, and a bounce house as well as a costume contest for children from 6:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
Last year, more than 2,000 people attended the event and more than half of the attendees were dressed up, Lewis said.
