Locally owned and operated in Lebanon, Billie’s Burgers & Beer will celebrate its one-year anniversary in December.

They will host a grand-opening event on Saturday, Dec. 19, with the band Friends of Lee at 8 p.m.

One regular customer, Ron “Doc” Lopshire, a longtime Clearcreek Twp resident, has been coming to Billie’s Burgers & Beer since they opened the doors.

“I like coming to a friendly, family-owned establishment, versus a place that’s corporately owned,” Lopshire said.

Lopshire, who retired a few years ago, said he often stops in during the week for an early Happy Hour. He and his wife, Lorna, often frequent the restaurant on weekends, or come by to watch football games on Sundays.

“The owner’s and staff are nice, good people. The food’s good. There’s also a great crowd, and there aren’t any problems. It’s a good place to get a drink after work, and on Sunday’s there’s a family atmosphere.”

Other regular customers travel from neighboring communities, including Monroe, Franklin, Dayton, Maineville and Morrow.

Owner Alia Tueimeh said the restaurant and sports bar has a lot of rich history in the community. The location was most recently a Buffalo Wings & Rings until December 2014. Previously, it was a Frisch’s Big Boy Restaurant.

The Lebanon eatery features the Warrior Burger, which has two burger patties, each topped with American Cheese, grilled banana peppers and deep-fried pickles. It is served with lettuce, tomato and red onions. Another favorite is the Warrior Sloppy Fries, which are fries loaded with chili and cheddar jack cheese.

There are a lot of things at Billie’s Burgers & Beer that represent the Warrior, the mascot of the Lebanon High School sports teams.

“I love the idea of the Warrior Burger, and bringing that feeling of a community spirit,” Tueimeh said.

“The ‘Warrior Burger’ is very popular. The Crunch N Munch Burger and the Classic Gyros are popular, too,” she said.

Billie’s Burgers & Beer will also soon feature several new menu items, including a BLT, a sausage sandwich, buffalo chicken dip and a steak salad, to name a few.

Tueimeh, 36, has more than 17 years of experience working in the business, having been a dishwasher, server, cook and a bartender. As a restaurant owner, she said she learns something new every day.
