Premier Health buys Middletown surgery center

Atrium Medical Center, part of the nonprofit health system Premier Health, has acquired an outpatient surgery center in Middletown.

In a deal that closed Sept. 16, the Middletown hospital Atrium paid $2 million to buy the property of Southwest Ohio Surgery Center at 295 N. Breiel Blvd., according to records listed on the Butler County Auditor’s website.

“It will still operate with the same physicians and staff that the patients have come to know and appreciate,” said Sharon Howard, spokeswoman for Atrium.

It’s the largest outpatient surgery center in Middletown, Howard said.

Meanwhile, Atrium recently broke ground on construction for a new standalone emergency center in Mason. A medical office building on the campus of Edgewood City Schools off Ohio 73 is nearing its opening.

“We’re always looking for opportunities that will continue to strengthen our provision of services in the region,” Howard said.
