Liberty Twp. getting new healthy-conscious restaurant and fitness biz

A new restaurant offering healthy dining options is coming to Liberty Center.

Deg’s Flame Grilled Chicken is set to hold its grand opening May 6, according to Cheryl Rogers, area manager for Deg’s Chicken Inc.

Rogers said in conceiving the idea for the eatery, owner Dr. Naveed Haq “wanted to come up with a concept that was healthy.”

“We don’t even have a fryer in the restaurant,” Rogers said. “Everything will be grilled or baked.”

The new restaurant will be located on the second floor of The Foundry at Liberty Center and will seat approximately 70 people, she said.

Deg’s Chicken will also feature organic sauces, healthy recipes, and “exquisite seasonings to give food a whole new perspective,” according to the company’s promotional material.

The restaurant is exploring additional locations at Austin Landing in 2017, as well as possible locations in Beavercreek and Columbus.

“We’re trying to stay with more of the high-end developments,” Rogers said.

Deg’s is looking to hire six full and part-time employees for register/front counter, prep cook and grill cook positions. It will participate in a job fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at OhioMeansJobs-Butler County, 4631 Dixie Highway, Fairfield. Applicants must be 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.

Liberty Twp. also is set to get a CycleBar Premium Indoor Cycling studio at 7306-7308 Yankee Road this September in the same shopping center as Kroger Marketplace.

The business will be owned by Justin and Holly Beck, Jack and Anna Weston and Scott and Charla Weiss, who are opening new locations of the business across the region.

“Blending our personal passions for community fitness and leveraging the great success of CycleBar’s corporate team in Hyde Park, we are excited as to where this is going to take our family and the communities in which we are partnering,” said co-owner Holly Beck. “Currently, we are on a mission to recruit our first coaching group, AKA CycleStars, who will be the motivating heart and soul of the studio.”

Such individuals will be “part coach, part DJ, part motivator” and completely at the core of the CycleBar experience, she said.

“If you’ve been to the Hyde Park/Rookwood studio or other high end studios like SoulCycle or FlyWheel, you get the energy and persona,” Beck said.

Application are being accepted at holly.beck@cyclebar.com or jack.weston@cyclebar.com.
