A company that provides portable restrooms, mobile showers, laundry trailers, and water systems is looking to expand its Butler County workforce this year.
Porta Kleen, which was founded in 1995, provides portable sanitation solutions for the construction, music festival, disaster relief, industrial, military, charitable and private event industries. It offers restroom trailers, private mobile showers, and hydro-excavation services throughout North America while supporting a full scope of portable restrooms and water systems throughout Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
Porta Kleen has operated within Butler County for more than seven years. It employs more than 100 people across the United States and more than 30 people within its Fairfield branch.
The company has plans to expand its Fairfield branch in the upcoming months and needs to hire a variety of positions, including mechanics, sales managers, route drivers, pick up and delivery drivers, customer service representatives and individuals skilled in a trade, such as welding, plumbing, electrical and other areas, according to marketing coordinator Charla Mayhew.

Q. What’s the biggest challenge facing the company and others in the industry and how is the company uniquely positioned to address that challenge?
A: “During our peak summer months, hours can become longer due to additional work site orders and multiple events throughout the city. Porta Kleen offers comprehensive on-the-job training and an extensive safety program to educate its employees and keep them engaged.”
Q: What’s the most prevalent roadblock you encounter when it comes to hiring and what can job seekers do to remedy that situation?
A: “Porta Kleen strives to hire candidates who are drug-free, safety-conscious, responsible and courteous. We encourage all jobseekers to read our posting closely and make themselves aware of all physical requirements.
Q: What’s the vision for the company’s growth, both jobs and otherwise, for the next five years?
A: “Porta Kleen’s vision is to double its Cincinnati business within the next five years and to establish a new building within the Fairfield area. To do this, the company will need to hire additional staff members.”
Q: Some job seekers are concerned about the limits of advancement within a company. To what degree can your employees advance from entry-level roles to be promoted to greater positions within the company?
A: “Porta Kleen is always looking for candidates with ambitions for advancement. As the company grows, it will need greater numbers of experienced individuals to manage new branches and manage festivals across the country. To be considered for advancement, employees must be dedicated, safety-conscious, responsible, and customer-service orientated.”
