GE Aviation supplier expands to France

Rhinestahl Corp. of Mason, which makes tools used to assemble, disassemble and conduct maintenance on jet engines for GE and its customers across the globe, announced June 17 the opening of its new branch location in Paris, France.

Rhinestahl has been a major manufacturer of aircraft engine overhaul and repair tooling since 1967. That position was expanded in May 2009 when Rhinestahl acquired General Electric Aviation’s Customer Tooling Solutions business unit. Then Rhinestahl further expanded its product offering earlier this year when it was selected as a tooling licensee by jet engine maker and GE Aviation joint venture CFM International for its new commercial engine LEAP, according to the company.

“Europe is a very important and strategic location for Rhinestahl as we continue to expand operations. The opening of the new branch in Paris positions us to provide an even higher level of customer support to our GE and CFM International customer base throughout the region,” said Dieter Moeller, president and chief executive officer of Rhinestahl, in a written statement.

GE Aviation is headquartered in Evendale and employs more than 9,000 people in southwest Ohio including employees of its West Chester Twp.-based venture CFM. Rhinestahl has about 150 employees, the company's CEO told Journal-News earlier this year.
