Windy with rain, scattered thunderstorms today

It will be windy today with additional showers and thunderstorms during the late afternoon and evening as a cold front crosses the area.

Skies will be mostly cloudy with a high near 64 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Wind gusts up to 45 mph will be possible at times. Gusty winds will continue into the early evening for most, but should diminish by later afternoon in Butler and Warren counties, the NWS said.

Storms may be strong to severe in the afternoon and early evening, with gusty winds the main threat.

Rain chances and winds will fall after dark, largely dropping away by midnight. Clouds will gradually decrease as temperatures fall to an overnight low around 38 degrees.

Wednesday will be partly sunny and cooler with a high near 54 degrees. Overnight it will be mostly clear and cold, with lows dropping below freezing around 31 degrees.

Thursday will be sunny with a high around 57 degrees. Thursday night will be mostly clear with an overnight low around 38 degrees.

Friday will be mostly sunny with a high back in the 60s, near 65 degrees. Friday night will be mostly cloudy with an overnight low around 48 degrees. There is a chance of showers after 2 a.m.

Saturday starts with a chance of showers before 8 a.m. Otherwise, it will be partly sunny with a high near 66 degrees. A chance of showers returns Saturday night, with thunderstorms also possible after 8 p.m. It will be mostly cloudy with an overnight low around 45 degrees.

Easter Sunday will be partly sunny with a high near 62 degrees, along with a chance of showers.
